launching internet explorer

cant get my computer to launch internet explorer. Goes to google then page closes down

There's a corrupt file somewhere in there. Try running System Restore.

thanks Chris but system restore will not let me go back any further than 3 days and have had the problem about 5 days. When I click on to Int Exp the page tries to open twice then when I try to close it says system not responding. If I`m lucky it will connect to Google intermitently
