vcr

Me again - homer - my sister who is old-fashioned - well anyway her video has broke and I am looking to buy her one.

The vcr has nearly become extinct as we all know it is dvd but she says she could not work one and I know she couldn't.

Anyway there are a couple in Argos.

Can somebody tell me the difference with 2 heads and 6 heads - what does this mean. thanks for any answers

my 78 year old mum uses a freeview hdd/dvd recorder...(sony) bought this year ... took her about a week to get her newstuff head on

while it does do a few more things ... so there are more options ... it works just like a vcr
(actually it's easier to use ... because setting recordings can be done from the digital program guide)

and now she records everything to the HDD ... then if she wants to keep something she bungs it on a disc.

to answer your question
more heads better the picture (also better pause and slowmo) esp with lp asd slp
Hi homerbart. To put things simply the more heads the vcr has the better the picture Quality should be.I hope that helps you.:-D
You beat me to it AC.:-D

thanks both of you - the choice was I think 2 heads and 6 heads so I will buy her the 6 heads. tara
Why not buy her a combined VCR and DVD player.

That way she can still use the VCR but gradually move to the DVD technology.

>but she says she could not work one and I know she couldn't.

I cannot believe this, I dont think a DVD is any more difficult to use than a VCR. In many cases it is easier.

vehelpfulguy - believe it or not she is brilliant at the vcr. Thanks everybody for your answers. I will be going up to Argos at 1.00 pm today to pick up one with 6 heads.

She definitely does not want a dvd - so I will leave that alone. ta ra
