Converting old photographs to jpeg format.
Is there anyway I can turn old photographs into a Jpeg format, these photos were taken approximately 15 years ago before the advent of digital cameras.
I desperately need some photos of my mother (Dec'd) to store and download. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

You need to scan them in to your computer.
Scanners are fairly cheap and once the picture is scanned in you can make it JPEG format (if it is not already).
Many all-in-one ink jet printers can scan and copy as well as print.

If you have the negatives only some scanners have the facility to convert these to digital jpg as well.

pop along to any local print shop or developer they should have a service or know of someone that can tranfers all your negatives to CD or DVD in that format
they normally charge about anything from £4.99 per CD
or per batch of negatives

If all else fails, with a bit of careful setting up,take a photo of the prints with a digital camera.

Yup, as has been said, get yourself a scanner and scan ‘em in, you can pick one up for peanuts these days.
I’ve done some great collages of old pics for Birthday and Christmas pressies recently including one of all my Mum and Dads old b&w pics!
Not sure if I’ve misread your answer Maglet but you don’t need the negatives to use a scanner, it’s just another option should you not have the pics.
