My car minidisc player is broken!

I have to turn the volume up full to hear either a disc or the radio, and even then it's really quiet. My boyfriend says the amp has probably gone. Assuming that he's right is it financially viable to get it fixed, or will I have to fork out for a new player?

I doubt anywhere would actually fix it apart from the company that made it and in as you say it would'nt be cost effective. Worth checking its not just a lose lead or something in the back.
