I recently purchased a laptop & thought i would do my parents a favour and take all my photos off of thier computer.

I burnt them onto a cd (luckily i havent deleted the originals yet) using Nero.

However.....i cant open them on my laptop as i dont have Nero. They have saved as .nco files.

Im a computer dunce so just need to know if its possible to open them (without buying Nero!) or shall i give up and try saving them another way next time i visit the olds!?

Ta!

You probably used Nero back it up or something like that to copy your files to CD. This compresses the data in order to store more on the CD. You need Nero installed on a PC to uncompress this and read the data. You don't say what version of Nero you have but you need to burn a Data CD using something like Nero Express. These discs can be read in any PC without having Nero installed
