Copy and Paste

For some reason I can't Copy and Paste on this site. As soon as I click on Edit the AB box disappears! Could someone take me through the procedure step by step as I really do need it - Please?

Are you sure that the answer box pop-up isn't simply disappearing behind the main question page? When it disappears, minimise the main page by clicking the box with a short horizontal line to the top right of the page, and you may then see the answer pop-up. If so, you can carry on with cut-and-paste etc.

Another tip is that when you are in "Post an answer" click in your answer box and then use Control + V to paste the contents of your clipboard into your reply. I hope this helps.

Thanks geofbob - I did exactly as you suggested - it was behind the main page, but in doing this I was taken back to the desktop and had to re sign-in again. Unless you have any idea of what's happening I'll continue with short answers before I'm 'timed out'. My typing speed is not so hot!

Dsg - It worked!! I've never heard of Control + v - you learn so much on this site. Thank you so much.

Just to expand Dsg's advice: Control + c = Copy; Control + x = Cut; and Control + v = Paste. Also, when you're on the internet, if you want to copy & paste a web-link or a graphic, try right-clicking on it - you should get menus which enable you to do some cool things.

There is no 'edit' menu on the Post an Answer window, which means you are clicking on the main window and thus you bring it to the front. To edit in the Post an Answer window you should 'right click' and a small menu will pop up next to the cursor with the cut, copy and paste options.
