I have a load of pictures on my phone SD card, and they show up fine on the phone, but when i try to view them on my laptop - it just says it cannot open it.

They are Jpegs. I have tried to email them, send them to a file converter, text them, etc etc and they either wont attach or still show up blank

any ideas whats wrong and what i can do about it?

i realised there must be some kind of corruption of the SD card so im going to reformat - but i want to try to save the pics before i do.

how can they be fine on the screen of the phone?

thanks

(using win 10 and HP 15, and a xperia m4 aqua

thanks

Firstly, copy the files to your hard drive and try opening from there (rather than directly from the SD card). The should divorce any problems with the card from those with the actual image files.

If that doesn't work, try different software to open the files with. The obvious choice (because it deserves a place on everyone's computers anyway) is Irfanview:
http://www.irfanview.com/

If you're still experiencing problems, try opening the files with a different computer. (That will divorce any problems with your computer's registry from those with the actual image files).

If you still get stuck, please post again, telling us about any error messages you've seen.
