How do I remove unwanted apps from a Samsung mobile phone, model GT-S681OP ?

I have a samsung, but don't have exactly the same model- but on mine, I open "apps" on the screen, press the app and swipe it to "uninstall" at the top of the screen.
The user manual isn't wonderfully helpful but, as I read it, you need to go to Apps, then Settings, then Application Manager:

Note though that phone manufacturer's usually tweak the Android operating system to their own requirements. That can often mean that some (or all) pre-installed apps can't be removed.
