Hi, my Mac came with 8Gb of ram and the ram "pressure monitor" was indicating orange most of time and occasionally red. It was running at around 7.5Gb in use with 8Gb available, mostly due to Virtualbox which I can't do without as 2 of my programs will only run on Windows. I upgraded the Ram to 16Gb thinking if there's 16Gb available and it's only using 7.5Gb then all should be well. Since the upgrade the computer is much faster but the memory is now running at 14Gb in use with 16Gb available. Is it normal that the computer should use twice as much memory just because there's twice as much available?
