Chris, you've often posted a link to a website of a supplier of cheap PC's, but unfortunately I forgot to bookmark it.

My old Dell tower is slowly dying, and needs upgrading. Keyboard, screen, mouse & printer are all OK, but I'm still running Windows XP Pro (under a Corporate Licence) with Office 2003 (also using a business licence), but I can no longer access SKY tv on this system as SKY insist on using the latest Microsoft Silverlight plug-in which is no longer supported on XP, therefore will need to upgrade to Windows 7, 8 or 10.

I don't want to spend a fortune upgrading the O/S on my present PC (knowing that all the files will also be lost, although I have plenty of writeable CD's to save to!), and then have the PC expire. I don't do gaming, and no longer use my PC for business (Libre Office or similar will suffice), can you re-post the link again, with some decent basic machines, including pre-installed operating systems.

Many thanks - Adrian

No problem. £89 (for an HP Elite 8000) should be all that you need to spend: http://www.accomputerwarehouse.com/products/computing/refurbished-computers (As I'm sure I mentioned before, that link isn't just derived from a random bit of googling. No problem.

(As I'm sure I mentioned before, that link isn't just derived from a random bit of googling. It's the firm that I've bought from, both for myself and on behalf of others, several times and I've always been totally satisfied with both their products and their excellent customer service. Indeed, I'm using a £99 computer from them right now to send this post!)
^^^ IJT Direct have rather mixed reviews on Trust Pilot although the problems mentioned seem mainly due to problems with ink cartridges, etc, rather than with PCs:
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.ijtdirect.co.uk

27 (out of 28) Google reviews for AC Computer Warehouse award them 5 stars.

Unfortunately I can't find a common review site for both of them (in order to make a better comparison).
PS: I've just noticed that the PC I've suggested is shown as 'Windows 10' in part of the description but as 'Windows 7 Professional 64 bit' elsewhere. I suspect that the discrepancy has come about through a bit of copy-&-pasting as their product range has evolved. A quick phone call should tell you which OS is actually provided but, as either would be fine, it's probably not that important anyway.
Have they stopped the free upgrading yet ?
Free Windows 10 upgrade is at present due to expire July 29

Thanks Chris and Fred.

The £89 HP looks good for my needs and shouldn't be too hard to network with my other PC's for file transfers.

Thanks for the further replies, only just refreshed after looking at online reviews.

If they can deliver during next week I should have just enough time to apply the upgrade to W10. I did notice the difference between the heading and the product description and would have queried it before ordering.
