How To Widen Columns On A Tablet ????

Missus has a tablet and would like to widen some columns ....
.... whilst viewing her emails, the far left folder list, that lists, inbox, junk, drafts, deleted .... etc, is all squashed up and she'd like to make it wider.
Dead easy to do on the laptop - just point your mouse on the side, until a horizontal arrow appears, then drag it to the desired width.
Not as straight forward on a tablet, using a touch screen.
I've been putting my finger on the screen and trying to drag it ... to no avail ....
Any ideas please ??
If t makes any difference, it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
