Hi all, I have not used my main desktop pc for three months as I've been away from home. I have now gone to Windows Update and it's still running a 'check' after 2 hours. Is this 'normal' or do I have to access updates via another means? Any guidance much appreciated

Hi, have now sorted most of problem, seems Microsoft error,( to busy selling 10 ?) have run a 'Fix-it' and downloaded/installed 38 updates.Let's hope it all now ok P
This has been quite a common problem just lately and Microsoft does not appear to be addressing the problem. The conspiracy theory is that by making it difficult to update Windows 7 you will willingly upgrade to Windows 10. Not that you could upgrade if you can’t get the updates. The remedy appears to be downloading and installing first KB3102810 and second KB3135445 in that order
