For about 4 months now, I've been getting notifications about new posts on Facebook; even when I haven't got a Facebook tab open. I would like to put a stop to this, as I find it very distracting.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

I assume that you're referring to an Android device (or possibly an iPad or iPhone). If so, see here:

One of the reasons I don't like Chrome is because Google tries to link together everything you do using their products and services. (So, because your using Google's browser and Google's social media site, you get Facebook notifications through Chrome; it wouldn't happen with any other browser).

Reading through this lot suggests that you can either turn off the notifications in Chrome (see the post from Ashley Wall) or within Facebook (see the post from David Richards):

^^^ I do know the difference between "you're" and "your", honestly. I'm just a lousy typist!

@Buenchico: Actually, you did say "you're". Do you know a way do edit out mistakes on here after submitting?!

I've found the location on Facebook and pressed the appropriate button, so that should have sorted the problem out

Thanks, Buenchico
He said 'you're' once but changed it to 'your' the second time.

There is no way to edit a post after submission. Once you have pressed 'submit' you have crossed the Rubicon.
