We got a peculiar phone call at 12.30am this morning. The only no. which showed up on the phone is 111911, I have tried to find it but to no avail. A lady said that someone had been trying to ring us and they were trying to find out who it was. She asked where we lived and my husbands d.o.b. unfortunately he gave her both, being groggy with sleep. She went away to check and left musak playing, she came back and said she couldn't find anything out.
Of course I am worrying now as to who it was, checked phone bill in case it was one of those which was mentioned where you are getting a huge phone bill, but of course it won't show up for a couple of days. (BT) Bank account looks o.k. so any suggestions please? Who would ring at that time?:0(

the person who called from that number ?
Question Author
Yes that's who I mean.
if BT is your provider I would call them on their reporting nuisance calls see what they can tell you....

Thank you for the link murraymints, I will give them a call, just seems such a peculiar number.....
Looks a false calling line identity to me. Definitely see if the phone supplier to see if they know who called. And check your husbands bank account and other financial accounts twice daily for a while so you can report anything suspicion to the bank if, and as soon as, it appears.
if appropriate report to police also !
Question Author
will do that too, thank you both.
please update if you find out anything...good luck
i'm sorry but some people just ask for trouble.giving your address and dob to what is just a voice on the phone ??
No need for that, ivor - they both know he shouldn't have.
Question Author
Not much to report thankfully. As I am deaf I had to do a live chat with BT, (nightmare finding it too) they have reported the spam call and assured me we will not be charged for it, which is something. Keeping an eye on bank accounts too, fingers crossed for that.
Thank you hc for your comment to Ivor, Mr.r won't do that again, I blame it on the midnight hour which these scammers depend on I suppose.
Thanks to all who helped, rosy
hope all will be well rosy....turn phone off at bedtime then mistooooks like this will not recur !
I would still report to police as evidence in case of future attempts at identity theft.....

Oh right will follow both suggestions Murraymints thank you

You may or may not know Ivor but people with hearing difficulties may cope with hearing aids and headphones etc quite well in day to day tasks , but telephone calls can be very different.

Good of you to research Rosy's past all the same.
