Is there any way of sending emails but keeping your I.D secret ? I ask this as I've
looked up a few things online from various companies only to be bombarded with unwanted return emails from them and other companies in their groups to the point where they become a real nuissance (using gmail)

Most on line companies have a box to tick if you do not want to get more advertising emails from them. On the emails you get there is normally an option to 'Unsubscribe'.
It's impossible to send emails secretly. You can either mark the unwanted email as spam and ignore the spam folder or set up a second email account and use that entirely as a throwaway email address to use for these type of sign ups. You can ignore that account entirely
I do as hc4361 does

Thanks everyone for your answers.
I'd challenge the assertion that you can't send emails secretely. For the purpose needed here, using a service such as virushost.co.uk would meet the requirements. The email address is deleted automatically within a few days by the servers.

Using the Tor browser or a similar service combined with mailinator would allow you to send emails secretely.
virushost? I wrote virushost.co.uk. What happened there?
OK the service is called mailinator NOT virushost!!!
I use mailinator but occasionally the website won't accept it - 'not a valid email address'
