Not Receiving Texts

I've begun to realise that recently I have not been receiving texts from iPhones. At least three people have texted me but I haven't received them on my Samsung Galaxy S3 mini.

I struggle to believe there is a compatibility issue, has anyone else had a similar problem?

might be because service provider is down 3 s been down most of the day

thanks for the suggestion Fraser, I'm with 3 and had no trouble sending and receiving to others today, it's just iPhone users with different carriers. It has been happening over a period of weeks.
