ok thanks I'll get him some time tomorrow
It might be asking you to update Adobe reader, jj.
McAfee's antivirus, Firefox is just a browser, they do completely different jobs.
Question Author
yes they are asking for me to click onto mcafee for me to open the adobe reader which I am afraid to do,
Question Author
tonv - it is asking me to update adobe reader but when I clicked onto a youtube here and which I clicked on to it brought me back to mcafee business
As said by jno...^^^...."McAfee's antivirus, Firefox is just a browser".

I imagine that you already have an Anti Virus programme, so you can ignore McAfee.

Are you able to tell me what you are being requested to up-date.?

Hans.
I am about to go with my wife to do our weekly shopping, so wont be back until about 1/1.30.

In the meantime I suggest you check to see that your Firefox is up-to-date.....Click open Firefox > Help > About Firefox. You will then see a notice telling you if FF is up-to-date and if it isn't showing 39.0 version you will be able to up-date from there.

Hans I know you have just got in - but went into Firefox and 3.9 is there - in fact it asked me right away - do you want to uninstall so of course I left it alone. Another little thing came up at top of left hand corner just a small thing saying - firefox won't work for you - would you "allow" it - of course I clicked allowed - that didn't work either. thanks for your help hans when you get the time.
Good afternoon jj...You now have me wondering if a 'nastie' has got into your computer.

I think you should give a scan with the free edition of Malwarebytes.

Download the installation file and install from your Downlaods folder. Do Not accept any offer for a trial of the Premium edition or anything else on offer.

https://www.malwarebytes.org/

It can take as long as an half hour or more to do a scan. It depends on how much stuff you have in your Computer/Laptop.

Have a try and let me know what evolves from a scan with Malwarebytes.

Hans.

hi Hans

Well clicked onto your malabytes - avoided premium and trial - still withall - it came up this is your trial and will expire in 7 days

These are the words

Licence Malawabytes Anti etc - Premim Trial
Data Base Version
Scan Progress
Real Time Protection

Also when I ran the malamalady - it took seconds
Question Author
also hans - it is Firefox mala business is not allowing me to buy anything from Amazon or Ebay since I am not "registered" with Firefox - seems Firefox is the trouble.
Question Author
tony where do you find the malady to "run" - it just runs like a line across the top of the right hand page and then stops and then I don't know where to go from thre. I looked on Desktop and nothing there either.
Question Author
earlier on tony - it is asking me to update to adobe reader as well and 237 said the same thing but where do you do that either.
Is there nothing in all programmes ?.
Question Author
sorry tony not a technaphobe - so don't know what you mean about all programmes.
jj, I take it that you have downloaded malwarebytes. If you click on all programmes you should be able to see it ( if it has downloaded ).
It is my guess that, in your endeavour to load the free edition of Malwarebytes, you Did Not unclick a box on the last page of the installation file which said.." Enable Free Trial of Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium".

I am now at a loss to suggest what to do next. It certainly appears that you have a few nasties which need to be removed.

It looks as if we may have to start all over again. In which case, please indicate what Laptop or Desktop Computer you have (Make & Model Number) along with its Operating System ( Windows Vista, W 7, W 8 or whatever)

Hans.
I think that she is sorted now, Hans. She is now able to post YouTube links.
