Not unless you left a friend's request accidentally
yes even though FB deny it they track whose page you have looked at then for some reason you are suggested to that person as a friend. If they don't look at 'suggested' friends' then you are ok.
Yes. This happened to me (I was looking at my ex husband's page) and before I knew it he'd requested me to be a friend. I was mortified !
Does that apply to twitter, also?
Oh dear ! I was snooping on a member if my family with whim I haven't spoken fir 20 years. Oh oh !
Oh pants!
In a bored moment I looked up (and found most of them) boyfriends from my younger days.

I think I may now have to buy a false moustache AND move abroad
what's wrong with your real one, too easily recognised?
Yeah, she could bleach it.
adds two names to The Book in red ink AND underlined
Doh.
More confirmation I am right not to go near FB
That means that if 'suggested friends' comes up on my page, that means that that person has been looking at my page? mmm, interesting.
Oh lord, I wondered why I got that 'add a friend' from nowhere....'how did he find me' gulp - panic.
I don't believe it, any "suggested friends" that appear I have never heard of and my page is private.
Some suggested friends are friends of the people you are friends with.
netibiza you can make your FB page as private as you want but FB keep a track of who visits your page, its happened too many times to people, are you saying we are making it up? 'Suggested friends' are made up of friends of your friends you "may know", and people who have looked at your FB page (even if all they can see is your FB user name and nothing else). Recently someone I know very well got themselves a FB page, (did not tell me as it was for work and they had no intention of using it socially) next thing I know that person had "accepted my friend request". I had not sent them one and they had not sent me one -very bizarre and a bit worrying.
A bit of paranoia there.

No..they will not know you've been noseying.

Since I joined facebook, back in the day, it has always shown 'friends you might know' and it's simply friends that your friends are friends with.

If your profile is set to private then all anyone can see is your profile pic.
I have so many suggested friends, it'd take me a month to look through them. Out if the many that I scrolled through earlier 95% had mutual friends with me. God knows who the others were.

I got an odd friends request a few weeks ago, on the front of the iPad I got a notification saying that this chap who was a mutual friend of Ummmm's wanted to be friends, I presumed it was someone from AB so had a look at his profile, he wasn't friends with Ummmm, I've no idea who he was at all.

FB does some odd things that's for sure.
The suggested friends bit comes from friends of friends but also takes your employer, schools, universities, hobbies and everything else you can think off... Since I hooked up with a few Abers, I see a lot of suggestions for folk who can only be from here....... it's nice getting to know some of them a bit better but you pick and choose, that's the joy of it. you don't HAVE TO accept a request from anyone
Where do you see 'suggested friends'? I have never had that
