Hello
Although I am very competent with Windows I know virtually nothing about the I pad tablet. My sister has asked me about a problem and looking at it I can't see what she has done wrong!

She can SEND emails to anyone but cannot receive any for the last 2 days!

She has her email addresses on the ipad which is her only one she uses and it is a sky email address. When I went into her email settings it showed her correct email with a little tick against which I take to mean this is the default address and below it there was some thing called 'cloud' but this had nothing against it.

When she switched it on I saw a message at the bottom of the screen saying something like 'finding emails 1 of 14 and then it stopped and there was this message which is still there saying 'updates from Saturday' or something like that!

I tried sending her an email from my laptop and it went but did not arrive on the I pad. Her pad is fully charged and has a strong b.band signal. She is using it at home

Everything was ok until this weekend. Can anyone suggest what she might have done wrong and how to correct it IN SIMPLE TERMS PLEASE!

Thanks so much

Log into her account using safari and see if your email has arrived there. While you are in the account delete any emails that are no longer needed as this will be raking up space on her ipad. I would then turn the iPad off completely and on again and send another test email. If she only has one email that will be her exchange account (her default email). The icloud is the storage facility of an iPad that allows you to store documents & photographs not on your device but in the cloud.
My sound daft, but have you done the tiening it off and turning it on again.

Hold the power button for 10 seconds until you see the slider to close down. Slide it, wait 30 seconds and power on again.

Thanks for quick replies Sycamore and Gromit

It has worked! After doing what you said there were hundreds! of emails we then deleted and I sent a new test email and it appeared.

Thanks for all your help again
You do need to keep deleting emails by accessing the account via safari say once a month or week depending how many are sent or received. The mail app on the iPad is for ease of use only.
