Opinions please. We are considering buying one or two of these wildlife cameras with motion sensors, ones that operate 24 hours. ABs experiences or assessments gratefully received.

It's hard to judge whether these are objective reviews or advertising copy (because they sponsor his site) but try Simon King's page.

There is an honest assessment of the variability of battery consumption according to the levels of animal activity and the user's choice of settings.

I'm convinced they recommend against using rechargeables but need to revisit the site to see if I recalled that correctly.

I haven't bought a camera myself. If it weren't so absurd, I'd have started a thread to ask how many acres of land I'd need for it to be safe to strap 250 quid to a tree, for weeks at a time. ;)
It depends whether you want one that will record video with sound or not. If you want that I would recommend this camera which we have and takes great shots.

For a more basic one without audio recording this one would suit your needs.

I have a Ltl Acorn and 2 Aldi equivalents.

I use them for hedgehogs.

These take still images and movies onto an SD card. The Ltl Acorn model that I have also has the facility to send an alert by text - but I don't have a mobile phone!

I also have 2 other cameras - but these are indoor - they transmit a live video feed via the broadband and I can watch it on the computer or ipad. I could also set it so it could be viewed anywhere via the internet.
