I either use Chrome or firefox.
I've not used IE...always used Firefox with no trouble.

Do you have to buy Google chrome?
Chrome for me, every time

weecalf I use Chrome and so far no problems.(probably tempting providence ) !
I find Chrome excellent, though some do not like it. Firefox is very good too. For me IE is the discount bargain basement in an up-market shopping mall.
NO it is free weecalf.
Both are free to download.
I use Chrome, haven't used IE for many years now.
You don't need to buy Chrome.

Should I install it then .Do I have to take IE off the laptop or just the icon
You can leave IE where it is, no need to uninstall.
They can all be a pain. If you have the disk space download a selection of browsers, see if one works better than the others. Change to another when it starts playing up.
You could have all three...and take your pick, as the mood takes you.

Haven't used IE for 6 years. Just leave it where it is and download Chrome/Firefox or both and select one as your default browser. You'll be amazed at the difference in speed, especially if you include that which cannot be mentioned on this site. Please note Methyl's advice above.

Hardly an up to date opinion then.
What is your issue with IE I use it and have found once set up it is ok but like Old Geezer said all browser have issues from time to time I have Firefox as a backup browser if IE is giving trouble

Slow keeps freezing
I tried Google Chrome, but there seemed to be a lot of adverts and tracking plus I downloaded something nasty so now I use Firefox instead. I still have IE maybe it is that that is slowing me down?
