Nobody has one standard broadband speed. If you look at most ISPs they will say "up to" in front of their quoted broadband speeds, so "up to 10mbps".

Also note that when the internet is busy (evenings in the UK) then you will not get your quoted broadband speed as so much data is being sent around that your data probably cant be downloaded quickly enough.

Also note that if you connect your computer to your router via a cable you will get a faster broadband speed than if you are using wi-fi.

So as you can see, there is no one standard broadband speed, it depends how far you are away from the telephone exchange, how busy the internet is, and if you are using cable or wi-fi.

So it is best to "test" your broadband speed at various times, during the day, in the evening, midweek and at weekends. And do it a number of times.

Then you can get a sort of average of those to give you your broadband speed.
