Message On Face Book

Because of my screen reader/speech system, I don't know how to use Face Book - or it may be that I simply don't know how to use it - but how would I leave a message on there for someone to send me a normal email? I've tried "write something" and "post a message" but nothing seems to happen. Ta Muchly.

Go to the person's page that you want to contact. Click on the 'message' icon somewhere towards the right top side of their page and a bubble comes up at the bottom right of the page. Type what you want to and click send, and the person will receive your message.

Okay K, I think I've done it - well, I found 'message' just above timeline and within a plethora of other info and I think I've sent my message, ignoring 'upload a file' on the way and just hit 'send', so I'll wait and see. Many Thanks.
