Hi Abers, can anyone please tell me in very simple terms how to add a mobile number to my phone, and how to delete the old number at the same time?
I have my sons phone in my mobile , and that has to be deleted to allow for the new one. Keep it simple! cheers.

Go to Contacts and 'edit' your sons details
Go to contacts, find your son, press bottom left next to the control button, you should get an Edit button come up. That's how it is on my Galaxy.

Have just found sons old number, which i can press if I want to speak and ring him. This has to be deleted.
Where do I go from here ?
You did create a 'Contact' for him in your address book?
Is there an oblong panel on your phone at the bottom (on the case) which you press to start etc? On mine, I press the bit of phone on the left next to that, and a menu box comes up, then the edit option.
Question Author
Yes, the contact is there but cant figure out how to delete. Mmm!
No need to delete just 'edit' the phone no.
No no, don't delete it - you need the Edit menu, which just lets you change the number. Don't delete the contact.

havent got an oblong panel at bottom of mobile boxie
Do what boxy is saying, press the bottom left hand corner of the phone and several options will come up including edit and delete. Press edit and go from there

Thanks so much boxtops for that very interesting link.
Will have to have a look in the morning and try it all out when I'm not so tired.
Not been well for 2 weeks, and things will seem a lot clearer after a nights sleep.
Many thanks for all your helpful advice abers x much appreciated

I conquered camera, texts, calls, f/book etc, but cant grasp this ruddy enter and delete phone number thingy. Drives me nuts but tomorrow is another day. It was so much easier before i got this lastest update of phone for my b/day pressie. haha Thanks again all x
pusskin, if you are really stuck and can't delete or edit his old number, just add the new number as a new contact, but call it JimNewNumber (or equivalent). You can then delete the old one when you work out how to do it :-)

Jolly good idea boxie, I think that will be my next move in the morning.
That may be a bit easier for an old cocoa slurper like me, lol
LOL pusskin, I think we are kindred spirits there..... I bought a tablet, I can't get on with this swiping and swishing business at all :-(
