I first put this question in another topic & would welcome an answer from you lovely Techies. is it possible to send broadband via mobile phone transmission thereby giving everyone the advantage of reception without extortionate Broadband charges ?

Yes. 3G/4G broadband is just that.

Can everyone have it instead of wired broadband? No, not without having vast numbers of short range cells. There isn't simply enough spectrum to handle the volume of data.

The subject has come up recently. I believe you need to search the settings of your phone looking for a reference to tethering. I understand it may depend on your mobile service supplier as to what they allow also.
Bandwidth would imply slow things down to a crawl I'd have thought.
do you mean "everyone in your family" or "everyone in the UK"?

either way there is a charge implication and service providers can charge what they like. I don't think what i pay for my broadband is extortionate when you think about what it can be used for.

Tethering a computer to a mobile phone to use its broadband....now THAT's expensive!
it tether my laptop to my smart phone when i need it say in a hotel etc which has no wi-fi
i have a 500mb package per month non my tesco bb so its just used for light web stuff, and watch my usage
