i have a motorola mobile phone with quite a few photos on it. i would like to get these photos onto my laptop so that i can save them, before this phone gives up the ghost (its on its way out). is there any easy way of doing this.

Can you not transfer them directly via cable. or just email the pics to yourself and access the email via your laptop and download them or else upload them to photobucket or dropbox and download then from there.
I'd do what ratter says. On my camera I just plug in the lead and upload them - a bit more difficult on my current mobile so I email them to myself then save them from the email.
or if your pics are stored on a memory card within your phone just download them from your memory card via a card reader, many PC's have them or you can buy them for a very few £££
Bluetooth from phone to pc?
Question Author
OK plenty of ideas here. phone is an old one and does not have bluetooth. the only cable i have is the charger, i don't have anything with the mini usb at one end and a regular usb at the other. it is a strange shape, different from the regular mini usb's. the phone doesn't have internet access, its almost an obselete type today, i.e. its not a smartphone. i will have to have a look and see if its's possible to attach it to a text, some phones will do that but i have no idea if this one will. it would be shame to lose these photos as most of them are of our grand children when they were younger. i dont think there is anything inside except the sim and battery so i have no idea where these photos are stored.
Can you describe the shape of the plug? Better still, can you upload a picture of the phone plug - we may be able to tell you where to get one.

Alternatively, have a look at the Maplin website or try a local market stall that sells phone stuff. I think you still need to stick to the cable option to solve this one.

its a mini usb but instead of being rectangular as many of them are, this is shorter on one long edge than on the other - not sure how you would describe this shape. i can take a picture of the plug but not sure how to upload a photo to answerbank - is it even possible to put pictures on answerbank, i have never seen any before
