My Virgin Media payment is to increase by a massive £2.24 per month, making it £29.64 per month, for Broadband and Telephone with free calls 24/7.

Is this reasonable or is there a cheaper suppler?

mines going up a lot more than that... unfortunately we re not allowed to have sky in a multi occupancy property with cabling in situ... so if I want the footie..... they do vary with the different offers though try getting in touch with disconnections they may offer you a better deal to stay.
mine has gone up nearly £4...!!!
All their 'we are doubling your Broadband speed for free' sounds like bottox then.

We're with Virgin and not heard anything about an increase... yet.
No i haven 't heard anything abut an increase yet either...bit worried now. Don't have much alternative to Virgin without paying for a phone line installation.
Mine is being increased more than that too :(
''Don't have much alternative to Virgin without paying for a phone line installation''

Same here... only have their Broadband service as we don't need a landline or tv.
well I dont want to worry you but I used to be with virgin and after ditching them BT told me that it would cost £130 to re-activate my phone line so that i could use another isp.

Its all big stitchup really
meant say - so check with BT what the situation with the line is
What doesn't seem to go up above the official rate of inflation these days ? Oh right, my salary. Well nothing new there then.
We have the TV too because want the footie. No need for a landline.

Yes baz, that's what i mean, any other supplier needs a phone installed or reconnected which is £130 then the installation of the supplier coata on top, and would i be any better off.

It just narks me having a lack of choice. You'd think to gain a customer they would consider waiving at least some of the initial cost.
The two last people I would go with are BT and Talk-Talk,I would rather stick with Virgin, and that's saying something.!!
