Low Energy Light Bulbs

Not a question as such but a while ago, gripped by the urge to save the planet, I fitted low energy bulbs throughout the house

On Friday night one packed up and just now a second one has gone which is either a coincidence or a tribute to the repeatability of the manufactring process that they exhibit such similar failure times (assuming they're from the same production run)

I should get out more...

lol thanks for sharing.
The bulbs should go out less.
While on the subject why do they have to look so ugly. The are not the right shape or size for the holder.
I'm sure I read somewhere that it takes more energy to make and dispose of a low energy bulb than it did the real ones that are now verbotten under EU regulations.
They aren't bright enough either.
they're crap
headwreck ..just say how you feel, don't hold back.
:) we asked my brother a while back to get us some light bulbs, he came home with energy saver bulbs and they drove us cracked they were so dull, like candles, so I dumped them and bought decent bulbs, at least I can see my hand in front of my face now
I am partially sighted and they are useless to me too.
So, did you take them back to where you bought them?
They are rubbish - far too dim, but you can still get the good old fashioned ones from pound shops, I've stocked up !

Absolutely agree with all the above, absolute rubbish.
Yet another nuisance imposed upon us in the name of saving the planet
I like the halogen ones that look like old style bulbs.

If you want a decent low energy bulb you have to spend a bit on a decent Philips or GE one. The cheap ones give horrible light.
