Printer problem

Ihave an HP PHOTOSMART 7660 printer.It has started just printing headings and illustrations but no text to go with it.It is not the black ink because it prints black headings.I am not aware of changing any settings on the computer or printer.Please can anyone help?

Which program are you printing from? How do things look in print preview?

I must confess to being a computer user who knows very little about how things actually work.The main problem is when I try to print receipts from shopping sites or conformation of hotel bookings etc.It also happens with e-mails.I haven't tried print preview.

Have you tried printing a few line of just ordinary black text? I am not sure the black ink cartridge is completely blameless.

Sounds like a Frames issue.
Some websites display different parts of the page in different Frames. When you "print screen" it only prints the current Frame. Often just doing one click of the mouse in the area you want to print before pressing "print screen" will fix this. However, always look for a proper "print" button within the web page which should format the page to suit a printer.
I have noticed how difficult it is to find the "print" button within many major corporate sites (notably British Airways and HSBC to name but a few).
