Obtaining PAC code/terminating contract

I have just gone over to "3" and yesterday I requested termination of my contract with Orange (as I'm entitled to). Nothing has happened except two "feedback" texts.
How long do they normally take to creak into action/how do you normally receive the PAC code (e-mail/text etc) ?

..the tw*ts have ignored me and now I've cancelled the direct debit ...ha!!
You don't need a PAC code to just terminate a contract, it's only used for transferring a number from one provider to another.
Have you given 4 weeks notice?
