I've got a rogue site flashing

when I try to open my home page (Google search), using Internet Explorer, I keep getting a rogue site that constantly flashes slowly on and off. If I close it and then open the required file or site, it reappears. I've definitely never come across this site before; for the record it is: www.buzzcustom.com
My attempts to try to block this rogue infiltrator haven't met with any success thus far. Do you know what has caused this to suddenly happen and how I can resolve this annoying problem?
I would be very, very grateful to you if you do ... :)

After finding the problem in my Firefox browser, I started my Firefox in Safe Mode (Hold the Shift Key down when you start Firefox). I selected all the options in the dialog box except delete my bookmarks. I think it might have something to do with a rogue addon. My browser works now, I will probably have to go through each add on one at a time to see where the problem...

I have the same issue, it started today, but only on Firefox. Google Chrome is ok. I have tried to do a virus scan but the virus scan is not working!
Ps, it is the same website buzzcustom.com

How weird is that? My firefox is ok and so is my safari. How strange that it is the same site causing the problem?
:)
Others have had the issue

most likely a new virus that has not been sorted by the Anti Virus folk.

There are somethings it is good to be first with but some not so good!

Kemosaby: Thanks, The problem is not just with Firefox Boomster has the problem on safari and others on Google Chrome or Internet Explorer http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic

We need a real techy to get the problem or for it to be picked up by the virus scan companies. But I don't know how they find new viruses.
Kemosaby: Thanks, I disabled all addons in Firefox and it works fine.
I am not sure whether it is a redirect virus or it's just a toolbar.
I need more information about the symptom.

If it's just a toolbar, it's quite easy to remove, just refer to following steps:
1), Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools → Manage Add-ons,
2), Select Search Providers, First of all, choose Bing search engine or Google search engine and make it your default web search provider (Set as default).
3), Then select Search Results and click Remove to remove it,
4), Go to Tools → Internet Options. Select General tab and click Use default button or enter your own website, e.g. google.com instead of www.buzzcustom.com Click OK to save the changes. And that's about it.
5) I still recommend you run a full scan with your anti-virus program.
Please let me the outcome.

Thanks for all your great help everyone. I finally got rid of the 'orrible blighter by going to 'manage add-ons, as most of you suggested, disabiling ones I did not recognise ... which and in my case, was nearly all of them! :)
Thought some of you might care to read this I found, too.
Sorry I have to send all of as text, but I cannot get the url link.

I have a malicious web site that keeps flashing up whenever Google chrome is being used. It is "buzzcustom.com". Anyone else experiencing this problem? Malware, spyware and AVG scans are not effective.

Problem just started yesterday....

Hi folks,

Thanks for your reports. For those of you who mentioned you (or someone you know) were contacted by callers providing virus programs, please do not respond to them as they may be involved in what has caused this "buzzcustom.com" issue.

If you are seeing this issue in Chrome, please check the following:

If buzzcustom.com pages are opening up each time you start up Chrome, check in Wrench > Settings > On Startup > next to the radio button for Open a specific page or set of pages, click on Set pages > remove any unwanted URLs by hovering over the URL until you see an "X" appear to the right side of the URL.
If all searches that you perform in the omnibus is returning with results from buzzcustom.com instead of your preferred search engine, check in Wrench > Settings > Search >Manage search engines > check the list of Default search engines, Other search engines, and Search engines added by extensions, and remove suspicious entries that you are not familiar with. Depending on your extensions, you may not see the last section for Search engines added by extensions.
If buzzcustom.com is opening up when you click on the Home button, check in Wrench > Settings > Appearance > select the Show Home button checkbox > check if the URL that appears below it references buzzcustom.com.

Also check if there are any Chrome extensions enabled that you do not remember installing. Go to Wrench > Settings > Extensions > if you see any suspicious extensions, please disable/remove them. You can disable extensions by unchecking the Enabled checkbox next to the extension. Remove extensions by hovering over the extension until you see a trashcan icon appear next to the Enabled checkbox, and click on the trashcan icon.

If you do find suspicious extensions installed and do not remember installing them, it is advisable to perform a malware scan. Keep in mind that not all anti-malware programs will scan for the same list of malware, so you may have to try more than one anti-malware program.
