mobile phone query

spend hours trawling the net to find out things but usually end up here to get a sensible solution.
Always pre-empt any answers with ' I am a technophobe so simple answers please'
Would kind abers please recommend a simple, easy to use payg (vodafone) mobile which does what it says on the tin. Don't want fancy thingies (a camera would be nice though - big screen) - not too expensive, looks good and doesn't have fiddly keys. Is it necessarily expensive to have a querty keyboard?
Thank you, have been on ebay and amazon and am punch drunk.

I find Nokia's are very easy to use. Try Tesco.

thanks ummmm - will look at those.
That is the trouble with too much choice, one gets to s state not knowing which way to jump.

Unsure I quite understood, you refer to Vodafone so you are hoping to save money by getting a handset locked into them ? If so the best bet might be to look at what the Vodafone website is offering first before deciding and then searching for a best price.

I think the cheaper they re the fewer extra functions they offer.

No one can get cheap QUERTY keypads as my spare one testifies. I just tried a few shops on the highstreet and found a cheap unlocked one to tide me over when my previous one broke.
Er...

"No; one can get"
Not
"No one can get"

I'm sure that has caught me out before.
Tesco also do decent PAYG deals if you decide against vodafone. They triple your credit every month.

have just re-read your post OG - no, not necessarily looking to save money - just looking for value for money
Don't buy on eBay, and personally I would use Amazon either
If you must buy on line use places like o2, Carphone Warehouse etc

You could look in CW for a SIM free cheap mobile that way you get a larger choice of cheaper phone

I like my easy to use Samsung. you can change the QWERTY keyboard to a number pad for texts in it's settings very easily. Nice camera, little apps you can download to make life simpler

Asda also have great deals

thanks ojread2 - have bought one phone but it was faulty so have returned it - now awaiting another - one with a querty keypad which should make texting easier.
