I've just lost the sign on the bottom of my computer

It's the sign in the bottom right hand corner that looks like a speaker. I clicked on it to listen to Ratters clip and it disappeared. How do I get it back. In language for technophobes please.

Fairly generic instructions:
bottom left hand corner of screen Start> Control Panel> Sounds

tick the box that says - place volume control in task bar - or similar
