Extracting you tube videos to dvd

To download YouTube .FLV and convert to either AVI or VOB so that it's playable on a standard DVD player?
Here's a very convoluted method:
Start with Firefox

and install the Video downloader add on

It's self explanatory, very easy to use, but you might need to convert it to a usable format, so use this

I have a YouTube downloader that down loads sound but I just wonder if there is a similar software that extracts videos ?

There is probably an easier way, but full audio / video burnt to a DVD that is playable on any DVD player and all for free is possible with the links above.

Have used the 'keepvid' site which worked fine for me too....Not sure if the file types are changing to HTML 5 from .fla ?
