Why can't I download Iplayer desktop?

I find a program click on the dowload link it takes me to the download Iplayer for desktop page which helpfully has a "click here to install" button, I click it, then it just sits there with the circle thing going round and round for about 10 minutes then gives up. No error message, nothing at all. I check my sysytem and I player is not installed anywhere. I'm using firefox, any ideas anyone?

The first thing it should do is bring up a adobe flash based prompt asking you if you want to install adobe air, if you are not getting that then chances are you need to update to the latest flash player.

Also you need to be logged in as an administrator account for the install to work, but that would become a problem later in the process, not where you're getting stuck.
