When I press F5 to refresh a page it takes the page back to my home page. It happens on Chrome and Firefox. Any ideas?

I use Ctrl + f5 in Firefox. This may help

I wonder why F5 on it's own doesn't..

Ctrl is for hot keys.

Check the menus, it may tell you what the view/refresh hot key is on Chrome & Firefox ?
