BT are having huge problems this afternoon.

Most of their network is down. I have just got mine back but am one of the lucky few. There were about 1000 people on hold to BT in the last 30 minutes so I am told.

1000 no wonder i could not get through.
i cant access google chrome or yahoo i only just got on here but i keep getting a message reading internet explorer cannot connect you.
glad its not only me then.

Since my original answer it seems there has been some sort of power outage somewhere in Birmingham that has effected BT Broadband users country wide.

Ours was only down for about an hour so hopefully you will get yours back properly soon.

Really? - I'm been on my BT broadband since 730 this morning, I've had no trouble at all (fingers crossed, now!)

The BT site only identifies 12 areas, 8 of which are already resolved - Charing's our nearest http://btbusiness.cus...om/app/service_status

My area isn't on that list but I know lots of people here lost connection.

I really wouldn't bother calling them. I gave up after 45 minutes on hold and was then told about the amount of people waiting to speak to them (as above). If you do get through you will probably only be told to wait for it to come back.

Mine is normal speed with no problems at all (famous last words no doubt)
