My email Googlemail to Mozilla - problem

For some time now I have set up Mozilla to receive all my webmails from G. Mail. There has been no problem.

They now do not seem to be importing correctly. I keep getting a message in Mozilla which says:

"error occurred in connecting to imap.googlemail.com.993 - ssl....?with incorrect authentication code -ssl_error_bad_mac_read"

What does this mean? I can still access the emails by going on the web to my G. Mail Account. Went into help and it told me to make sure it showed as imap enabled (which it does). Any ideas please as I am completely confused now. It has been working ok for last 6 months since I installed Thunderbird Mozilla for the emails.

Thanks a lot

The easiest way to run System Restore without potential problems from 'background programs', such as Avast! or Zone Alarm, is to do so in Safe Mode. Press F8 during start up to enter Safe Mode. Your screen will look very odd (because the video driver won't have been loaded) but you'll still be able to access System Restore.

Email clients seem to have a nasty habit of losing account settings. The problem is most frequently reported with Microsoft programs (such as Outlook Express) but that's probably only because they're what most people use.

The vast majority of such problems can be solved by simply deleting the account from the email program, and then creating it again. (Deleting the account only removes the connection settings. You won't lose any existing emails!).

Delete your existing account settings (using 'Delete Account' from Tools>Account Settings). Then recreate the account, using these instructions:

Thanks Buenchico - have done as you said and although I am ow seeming to receive my gmails into Mozilla ok I am stilloccasionally getting the alert box I mentioned.
I will leave it for now and see how it goes!
I tried ti 'restore' to a few days ago as this always worked when I was on XP. Now I am on Windows 7 whever I try and restore it says 'not restored'!!
Someone suggested that this was because my Avast antivirus or my Zone Alarm was stopping this and I should temporarily disable them - but don't know how to do this.
Anyone any ideas re. the restore problem? Wish I was still on XP with Outlook Express!!!
Thanks
