fuzzy picture on hi8 web cam

Hi,
second question tonight. I have a hi8 webcam, and it was playing tapes with a really clear picture. I fast forwarded whilst watching the picture a few times, then suddenly the picture is full of static interference, barely watchable. I have tried a dry cleaner tape, no good, I bought a wet cleaner tape and run that through, no good. I feel that it is not dirty heads, but something else. any ideas? I must add that I had another Sony video 8 camera many years ago and if you fast forwarded that whilst watching the picture it also had the same problem,
( several times, should have learnt my lesson) but that was under guarantee, so sent it back and it came back working, but did not find our what was wrong.

Sony TRV's can give a similar problem .. Tried a battery out reset?

Hi,

I think it is a camera set up fault as it looks good when you enter dubbing, but during the dubbing process there is a box with writing on in the middle of the screen, and it will no go away, but the picture behind it looks perfect.
