I was watching a 3D film in Comet and it was impressive but I feel it has limited application for average scenes . In order to appreciate it you needed to stand about 2m back and if someone passed between you and it the 3D objects passed through them . The point is, the objects between you and the screen are always there which spoils the effect. A bit like a hologram. I suppose if you were sitting in complete darkness, like in a cinema , it might be more realistic. I was watching planes landing and taking off from an aircraft carrier and they came right out towards you but the sea didn't so you were not actually there.

There's quite a reasonable review (after you get past all of the science) here:

I love mine! I'm not really sure what you are saying about people walking through it lol
Based on a couple of goes at the comt demo, can't say I saw what all the fuss was about.
I bought one about a month ago, and there isn`t a lot on that I enjoy, as I am not a very keen sportsman, and you have to pay extra to watch a lot filmms, so it`s not worth buying one in my opinion.
They havent sold as well as the Manufacturers had hoped for and it hasnt really caught on. It doesnt help that there is little in the way of 3D content either Televised or discs to buy still and that the manufacturers couldnt agree (again) on the glasses aspects and i believe there are three different versions available. There is also a possible Health implication of what damage it may do if users watch for prolonged periods of time. This may be more relevant to gamers when 3D games really start to take off, although the last i read this hasnt been proved it seems to be just some medical experts opinions and others seem to think it is fine. who knows, bit like mobile phones damaging your brain scenario?!
All i know is that it doesnt interest me at all, well maybe when 3D porn comes out i'll have a gander!!
3d TVs will sell in the same way that HD has in other words within the next few years TVs will be sold '3d ready' so by default any new buyers will end up owning one.

1 in 8 people cant see 3d images and unfortunately I am one of them so I won't be buying!
I think mine is brilliant so much so that i have just bought the sony 3D lap top so that i can watch movies in 3D whilst i am in my bunk offshore, it also converts 2D blue ray movies into 3D at the touch of a button.
