Upload from phone to laptop.

I recently bought a Nokia 2730 Classic mobile phone.
It did not come with the cable to be able to do the task,however I purchased one elsewhere.
When I tried to use them,it seems that I need a CD with instructions as well.
I purchased the phone from a T Mobile store and they have been no help whatsoever.
Could anyone help me please,as I am not all that "au fait" with the intricacies of computers ! Thanks in advance.

do you not get an on-screen meesage, asking what you want to do with the device, when you connect the phone and laptop via the lead?
