attachment as rich text format

hi,
i'm trying to attach my cv to a company but it has been done on wordpad as i don't have word, also its prefix is rtf and i just can't get it to work. i tried sending it to hubby's email but it came out all skew-whiff! what am i doing wrong? (no pc in the house has word and i don't have time to retype it all on a library cv)

If you've not got Microsoft Word you should download and install Open Office. It's free and does just about everything that Microsoft Office can do:

You can then open the cv in Writer (which is the equivalent of Word) and save it in Microsoft Word format. (Use File>Save As and ensure that the 'Save as type' field is set to Microsoft Word).

A, possibly easier, alternitive is to install the cute PDF writer, then open your CV on works, select file > print, select the cute PDF writer from the list of printers and select print.

When prompted for a location to save select your desktop and click ok (or save)

You will then have your CV in PDF format that will be able to be opened by pretty much any computer in the world.

Incidentally, I meant installing cute pdf writer would be easier to solve the problem of getting your CV to the company in a readable format.

Installing open office, as Chris suggests, and using that to type documents in the future will stop you having this problem again

Definitely use the pdf because it is accepted as a ubiquitous format.

No matter how you make it, sending a Word format document shows a lack of IT intelligence. (If they asked for it in Word format then they have a lack of IT intelligence.)

Incidentally, those who think OpenOffice.org (that is its name) can do pretty much everything that can be done in Microsoft Office don't realise the capabilities of MS Office.

Still, one should not look a gift horse in the mouth and OpenOffice.org can satisfy the needs of most users.
