Hi , someone has hacked into my friends daughters MSN & started sending messages pretending to be her . Haven't got a lot of info as neither my friend or his daughter are computer savvy . Apparently she is using an unsecured wireless network other than that I don't have any more info . A bit vague I know but any advice welcome . Thanks

Tell her to log onto MSN and change her password immediately, then email all her friends and tell them that the messages they have been getting are not from her.

She may have been hacked via a website..
Some people sign up to websites giving there login information, then the "company" will go on for less than 1 minute to post advertisments..
or
She signed up to a website without thinking giving her login details which leads to being hacked.
But like Daffy654 said; if she can get in, change her password.. I would also suggest, setting up an alternate e-mail address - so if she ever forgets her password, or gets hacked again and them changing the password.. All she has to do is go to "forget password" then follow the instructions.
How to setup an alternate e-mail address? Go to https://account.live.com, login, then go to the alternate email address, enter perhaps the parents email address.
Sorry if this is superly confusing ;-) if you want a bit more "simple" just leave a message

Hi I have had something similiar. This name except for a lower dash appeared on my msn which is the same as my friends that I already have on msn.I did not invite this person and there is also a photo of this person on my msn screen. I put a message through asking how they got on my messenger but no reply so I have deleted the contract .All a bit confusing but I did not speak to or invite this person.

she should also run some anti-spyware scans. there might be some spyware stealing information, and if so, the attacker will get new password when the girl changes it.
