Problem updating AVG 8

I have just reinstalled avg8 as i was having problems with it. But this does not seem to have cured the problem. When i try to update i get a pop up box telling me that "the connection with the server has failed " this happens every time . This has left the antivirus and antispyware databases outdated according to the overview page. Any answers pls.

Had the same problem & a reinstall worked for me . You might want to try the AVG forum itself

Tried again later this aft and it updated ok and is working normally now.

The best way to update AVG is to uninstall it and replace it with Avast which is a much better program and also free.
