AVG8 free

Is there a problem with the updating at present ? Neither auto nor manual updating will run today so far

Thanks,but it is the new version thats just started the problem.Its been running OK for at least a month prior to todays hiccup.Hope its just a glitch on the update site

I think you could be right . I am having trouble with my avg 8 free update manager since lunch time.
just spent 2 hours scanning for bugs and the update still wont work.

Sorry but isn't that what my previous post said . I had AVG free 8.0 update wasn't working , uninstalled . reinstalled , now it is

I have just uninstalled and re installed AVG 8 free (finally!!!!) and the update manager seems to be working now.

Thought I'd give the update one final try before reinstalling,it went through quickly and without any problem,looks as though AVG have sorted out whatever it was

if anybody has an issue again

1 - Go to "Control Center"

2 - Click on "Update manager" in the list.

3 - Right Click on "Settings"

4 - Click on the "URL" tab and change URL in the FIRST line

from

http://update.grisoft.cz/softw/80/update

to

http://backup.grisoft.com/softw/80/update

5 - Make sure the URL in the second line is the SAME as the first line.

http://backup.grisoft.com/softw/80/update
