One of the things that has helped the internet to grow (certainly in its early days) was newsgroups.

These were discussion forums where people could discuss all sorts of things, hobbies, interests, technical stuff, sex related stuff and so on.

These groups had names like alt.tv.cartoons or uk.politics.misc and so on, (there are thousands of them).

newsbin pro is a program that allows you to view the contents of these newsgroups, plus see pictures if pictures have been added to a newsgroup.

more............
If you want to see an example of some of these newsgroups do as follows.

Go into google (www.google.co.uk)

See the bar along the top, where it says Web, Images, Maps and so on.

On that bar select "More" and from the list select Groups. Here you can search and view these newsgroups.

Suppose you were interested in cycling, well put cycling in the search area in the middle of the screen and press "search for group" and you get a list of groups.

As you can see there are loads: uk.rec.cycling, rec.bicycles.racing and so on.

(The naming may be a bit strange at first. but if it starts with REC it is a recreation group, UK is a uk based group, ALT is an alternate group - for alternate lifestyles, and so on)

If you use Microsoft Outlook Express for your e-mails then this has a newsgroup reader, so you can read the contents of newsgroups with Outlook Express.

Also, if you are on broadband then your service provider probably has a newsgroup server that stores all the newsgroups.

For example I am with broadband provider "blueyonder" and their newsgroup server is called
"news.blueyonder.co.uk"

I can go into Outlook Express and select Tools, then Accounts, and then News and register a newsgroup server.

I can then search for all the newsgroups on that server and select the ones I am interested in.

Sorry for the multiple appends, but newsgroups is quite a large subject.
You can read more about these USENET newsgroups here

See the small section called "Newsreader clients", well Newsbin Pro is one of those, a newsreader client.
