Good afternno!
I HAVE SERIOUS HEARING DIFFICULTIES.
I opened a GMail account three days ago, and suddenly my password is not being accepted. All the GMail help and support sites appear to be telephone only. I did find one person who said he could help, but he wanted £29 to do so.
Have I signed up to an Email account that does not use Email?
Please can anybody help me?
Thank you very much in advance!

As wolf says, make sure that caps lock and num lock are not breaking the password you are typing. Check by typing the password into a program where you can see it, like Notepad, then copy and paste it from Notepad into the Gmail password box to make sure you've got it right. If you still can't get in, follow the instructions on this page:...

delete and set up again

Thank you for your response, Murraymints. Do you mean to say that I have to start all over again? It took me three days to set up the account because I had to type in all the names in my Address Book individually. Long story short: I had to have a Yahoo account would you believe? However, I could not open a Yahoo account because I do not possess a mobile phone! I really believed all the people who told me that GMail is the best free Email account.
When I have problems with a password it is usually the caps-lock has been pressed or the number-lock is not allowing numerical digits.

Good luck

If you still can't get in, follow the instructions on this page:

Where it says "You'll be asked some questions to confirm it's your account and an email will be sent to you." that email will be sent to the secondary account you provided when you created the Gmail account. Check that account and, if there's nothing there, follow the extra instructions provided on the link above ("Check your Spam or Bulk Mail folders", "Add [email protected] to your address book",
"Request another email" and "Check all email addresses you might've used to sign up or sign in to your account")

You couldn't have asked on here then! I've been recommending GMX to people for years and I know that many other ABers love it too. If you give up on GMail, go here instead:

Thank you Buenchico - I have made a note of the GMX address. I followed Ellipsis' cut and paste instruction and all seems OK now. You would not believe how many times I have changed my Email address over the years - on second thoughts you would, because you know what a PITA I have been!
Many thanks

Most email systems have an option where you can export all your contacts and then import them in to your new email system.

No need to retype them all.
Pleased you are back in, and thanks for Best Answer!

By the way, I really like Gmail. There are one or two small annoyances but for the most part it's excellent.
