I saw this on Facebook and immediately thought of this site. There people on AB who just seem to thrive on arguments. My mum was like that, my brother has inherited the gene.

No, nothing like me. I really can't be doing with arguments in real life. I like quiet and calm and have enough respect for other people opinions.

Although my son does stretch my patience somewhat! Opinionated little so and so...
It is so not me but a lot of my family used to have huge rows, sometimes not speaking for months then they'd make up and forget it all. I never forget or forgive so avoid conflict like the plague if I can.
I thought of the Monty Python link, too. I have a neighbour (89 yrs) who says he won't fall out with anyone, but he'll argue with anyone. I told him I would, too and we parted friends. :)
ummmm //No, nothing like me. I really can't be doing with arguments in real life. I like quiet and calm and have enough respect for other people opinions.//
Yeah but AB gives the oppurtunity to let of steam doesnt it ;-)
No. I have my opinions and I dont care whether anyone agrees with them. That`s why I tend to shy away from debate on here (because I don`t give a *** what anyone else thinks)
No. But I know who it is :-)

Oh Gawd yes it certainly does.

"opportunity and off"

but, whatever.

Arguing with someone seems like a waste of energy - I very much doubt that an argument will ever change a person's opinion. In almost every situation there is usually fault on both sides.

I tend to think of an argument as a row.

On here, obviously an argument is not a row, and I am up for it in terms of an exhchange of views.

I can get a bit(!) carried away which is a fault of mine, but I find it hard not to respond if someone has a pop.

If I can see that I am simply not getting anywhere, then I will walk away, often not as soon as I should, but eventually I do.
