# don't know
Not sure I understand....where exactly are the hashtags?

#I successfully used twitter for the first time today :) #I've seen hashtags on facebook too, not sure what they do. #hashtags annoy me. Probably because I struggle to know what they are for
Twitter and Facebook are linked in that if you # something in Facebook it adds to how much it's trending. I think you can make it link on twitter back to the facebook post. If you don''t want your stuff on Twitter, check your privacy settings.

I have seen a few messages from people discussing various topics with hash tags, the hash tags are links that reload the page when clicked.

Maybe it is a link to the article from Twitter!
The hash tag concept originated with Twitter, but it has caught on so much that Facebook have jumped, belatedly, onto the bandwagon.

In time, everyone will forget that it was started by Twitter, and will think that Facebook came up with the concept.

FrogNog, thanks, that is what I was sort of thinking, Im not really sure what this "trending" thing is all about either to be honest! Clearly I dont use Twitter, I do have an account though, I just never look at it. It bores me, I dont really understand it.
Ah right, am with you now.

I've made the decision to not use Twitter,......+ I've not got a smartphone.

Please don't judge me, lol......;)

Ratter, coud I draw your attention to my thread re dog food under A&N, then Pets please.
Trending stuff goes to the front page if you like Ratter. It's like the headlines on a newstand, so every time someone adds a #, like Great British Bake Off had # GBBO, it's the first thing people see on their newsfeeds when they login.
If you add a hashtag to an image or post on facebook, you can then get it to link back on Twitter, so public posts are fair game.
