When I try to log onto Facebook, I'm getting a page full of text rather than the normal login screen with pictures etc.

It's only happening on my PC. On my phone and Kindle it's fine. I use Chrome, Windows 8 and have cleared my cache.

Any ideas?

How many page reloads (Ctrl-F5) can you do, in a row, without it fixing itself?
I've had this problem myself but it goes away after two or three reloads and without needing to make settings changes.

Try going to Google or Yahoo homepage, clear cache again then back to Facebook logon screen. Being in FB page might prevent the cache clearing process emptying out the problematic data affecting the page appearance.

I've downloaded Windows 8.1 and it seems to be working now. Of course, that could be a total coincidence, but at least it's working now.

Thanks for your advice Hypo.
Any time.

Just for the record, have you just completely changed operating systems or merely upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1?

I've upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1.
Today I keep losing the left hand side options and it just has 'news feed' 'messages' and 'events' it corrects itself if I close it and reopen.
